Glitter & Bling Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to the Glitter and Bling Blog Hop hosted by Gill. I'm glad you're here to hop along with us. If you hopped from Amy yeah! You are in the right spot, however if you are reading from your e-mail or just stumbled upon my blog, please go back Gill's post at the beginning and check out all the awesome projects! PLUS there is some wonderful blog candy along the way that you don't want to miss out on.

Now, on to my project...

This is an altered journal that I made for a journal swap...now because the recipient has not gotten it in her hands yet, I'm not sharing ALL of the details of the journal...I want some things to be a surprise...We have done "sneak peeks"...so I'm sharing the sneak peek with y'all as well...

The sand on the cover is actual sand. It was an adventure to learn how to mix it with the fixative and apply it. It also took several days to dry completely. I LOVE how it turned out though! The mixative is Gel Gloss. It is an acrylic additive/fixative that is with the artist's painting supplies. The "water" is fabric. I applied that using Aileen's fabric glue. The glittery fish are from my stash of foam stickers. The Sea Turtle, glass fish and other critters are all beads attached with the same gel gloss that I used for the sand. On the back of the journal are EK Success glitter stickers. Nothing major, very simple, just to follow the theme of the rest of the journal. I wanted something on the back of the jounal but I wanted it smooth so that it lies flat on the table or a lap. These stickers were PERFECT. This tag is the only one I'm sharing in the peek because I want her to be surprised at the rest of her goodies...I used my Imagine to print AND cut the tag and the turtle. All the cardstock is plain white Colorbok & printed with my Imagine. Unfortunately, I don't remember the sizes or which cart the turtle came from. The prints came from the Ancestry cartridge. I then embossed the border and the turtle's shell to give him just a little glam :)

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my designs. Your next stop is Zenita. Enjoy the rest of the hop! Here is the entire line-up, in case you get lost along the way

Hello, 'Chelle, it's lovely to "meet" you on your lovely blog page during this blog hop. I am now following.
This altered art book is so clever. I especially love that the sand is real - that comes over so well in the photos - and I love the sea background, too. The turtle is so cute...a blinged up turtle, who'd have thought? Very clever project, all in all. Very well done!
