Perpetual Flower Garden

I did a quick highlight of this in a previous post, but I only posted 2 pictures. I am re-posting it because I want to feature the detail on it, especially the stamped images.

This is my perpetual flower garden...I used peat pots, painted them with plaid brands of acrylic paint. I then stamped my images on them. Inside, I used Styrofoam balls which I had also painted with complimentary color acrylic paints. The idea of these was to put jelly beans for Easter in. I never got around to putting the Jelly Beans IN the flower pots. LOL. The flowers(paper rosettes) are made by cutting strips of paper and then scoring them with my Martha Stewart Score Board. This was very time consuming and got frustrating at points however I love how it turned out. The images on the rosettes are cuts drawn and cut from my Cricut machine. I posted the specific details on those in my previous post. I love how these turned out and they are an item that I plan to re-create for future events.

Old Sifter reformed

I started this post MONTHS ago when I first started my blog & apparently blogger archived it & it never posted :( SO anyway, I DO want to share where I began my blog...so without further ado...

This is an antique sifter that I painted over and stenciled some designs on for my mom. She loves how it came out...I am a perfectionist and would like the images to have been cleaner. BUT it was my first foray into stenciling and painting in this manner...I'll get better with time...I am a perfectionist...LOL

The stencils I used were self-stick made by Plaid. The paints were Plaid brands as well, Folk Art & Apple Barrel.

Jewelry Box

I painted and stamped this box for my mom. It had been previously painted but she asked me to paint it over.  The box itself is an unfinished box that came from Michael's, I used standard acrylic paints on it, then a cork stamp with paint and then sealed it with Mod-Podge. My mom is THRILLED with how it came out, as am I. I've never used cork stamps before, but these were a set I picked up in the HSN Retail Outlet Store and I was anxious to try out a new technique. So, here's mom's new jewelry/medicine/stuff box.
